GAABESU organized the first e-Reunion on 15th August 2020 at 8 pm IST. Several alumni from across the world participated in this entertaining evening, which brought back many fond memories.

Society for Automotive Engineers (SAE) conducted a prestigious event for automotive design amongst various engineering colleges.   The student chapter of SAE of IIEST, Shibpur participated in the preliminary round of the competition with design of ATV (all-terrain vehicle). GAABESU contributed Rs. 1 Lakhs from its Research fund and through an appeal to alumni community arranged another Rs. 2 Lakhs from Mr. Siladitya Ganguly, CEO of Regal Services and an alumnus of our institute (1979 CE).  The amount handed over to the students in December 2019.

As our society struggles to deal with the global pandemic of Covid-19, followed by the Super Cyclone Amphan, many alumni groups from IIEST/BEC have come forward to provide support to the most affected people. The Batch of 1986 have taken their efforts to a completely different level. 

GAABESU had joined hands with MUKTI, a non-profit social organisation (working for people in Sundarbans, the delta region of South 24 Parghanas in West Bengal), to help the worst affected during the cyclone Amphan.
